New.

Epiphanies can be wonderful and spiritual and mind-opening, grandiose and new, warm and welcome.  The very word sounds light and heavenly. Epiphany.  Here's what you have been missing - here, look at it, learn.  Here it is.  It's here, and this is it, and it's wonderful.

There is no word to describe the opposite realization which can be equated to stepping into a cold fog where everything is humid and white and cool to the touch, humid and unpleasant, but very real.  So real.  You see so clearly here, and you realize that this white mist is reality and it's the air you have been breathing - this is what it's all been like, really.  Here's what you've been missing.  So you look at it and you learn, and you see the world. Here it is.  And as you learn and stand and look around and you realize: it's here, and this is really it.
