Zeitgeist.

25 days until my twenties. 1.5 years until official adulthood. 4 commitments, each equivalent to a full time job, until then. 508 days to decide what to do with my life, professionally and otherwise. 2 career directions to decide between.  11 appointments and meetings in the next 5 days. 15 total hours spent getting to them. 3 of these days with 14 hours spent outside the home. 3 immediate projects to start on in these five days, 5 courses with readings to catch up on. 6 hours required sleep each day and 1 hour required rest each day; 3 recreational books to try to read; 1 body to sustain.  10 L of water to drink and a probable 10 cups of tea to supply the caffeine.  17 hours of music to listen to, if not more, with at least 2 songs and 2 albums to be put on repeat at some point.

Countless checkmarks on to-do lists, countless pages written for school and for myself, countless idle thoughts to distract from tasks.  Countless speeches and formal introductions, countless planning sessions and countless displays of distant communication with the outside world. Countless worries and justifications to stop worrying, countless pauses to re-evaluate the situation, countless reality checks and affirmations to just keep on moving forward. Countless glances at the clock, whether to see if class is over or whether to see if the night is too deep to stay awake any longer. Countless reminders that prioritization is not a rational excercise.

Quantified, qualified, or otherwise - the moments that stand out as the definition of the years passing by.
